Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman will take the day off for Monday's series opener at Wrigley Field against the hosting Chicago Cubs. Jacob Stallings will do the catching for left-hander Carson Palmquist and will hit ninth against Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon. It's a normal day of rest for Goodman, who has suddenly become a must-start fantasy catcher for the worst team in baseball. The 25-year-old former fourth-rounder in 2021 out of Memphis has contributed in all categories except stolen bases, slashing .275/.325/.451 with a .776 OPS, seven home runs, 31 RBI and 25 runs scored in 193 at-bats as Colorado's starting catcher. Expect Goodman to return for Game 2 of the series on Tuesday. Stallings will be a poor DFS choice at catcher in the nine-hole.
