4 Fantasy Football Quarterbacks You Must Draft in Dynasty Leagues (2025)

Caleb Williams - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Joey's sleepers and must-draft quarterbacks for 2025 fantasy football. His top QB target for dynasty leagues. Draft or trade for these QBs in dynasty fantasy football.

If you are an avid fantasy football fan and want to play year-round, starting a dynasty league is best for you. You will be able to compete for a fantasy football championship every year while also getting to make trades in the offseason. Dynasty leagues are really one of the best formats for those who love participating in fantasy sports.

If you have an upcoming dynasty startup draft, you have come to the right place. In this article, we will look at four quarterbacks everyone should select in dynasty leagues. These quarterbacks are fantastic selections at their ADPs and have the potential to be strong QB1 options throughout their careers.

So, which four quarterbacks should dynasty managers draft in startups? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams didn't have the best fantasy rookie season. He finished as the QB16 and averaged just 15.3 fantasy points per game. Therefore, it's safe to say that Williams was a fantasy disappointment in Year 1. The 23-year-old finished outside the top 20 at the quarterback position in 10 of his 17 starts in 2024.

However, dynasty owners should expect Williams to be a much better fantasy option in 2025 and beyond. For starters, Chicago signed offensive guru Ben Johnston as their new head coach this offseason. Johnson was a big reason why the Detroit Lions had a top-5 offense from 2022 to 2024. He should now help the young quarterback grow as a passer.

On top of that, the Bears' front office really improved the offense in the offseason. They traded for guards Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney in March and signed center Drew Dalman to a three-year, $42 million deal in free agency. After Williams was sacked 68 times in his rookie season, he should have more time in the pocket moving forward.

Let's not forget that the team drafted tight end Colston Loveland and wide receiver Luther Burden III with its first two picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Adding those two players to an offense that already features DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Cole Kmet, and D'Andre Swift is a great sign for Williams' dynasty value.

That all makes Williams a strong pick early in dynasty startups. He finds himself going in the second or third round of most Superflex formats, which could be a fantastic value. The 23-year-old threw for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions in his rookie season while running for 489 yards on the ground.

While there are plenty of things Williams needs to improve on, having Johnson in Chicago should help him reach his full potential. The former Lions offensive coordinator helped Jared Goff finish as a top-7 fantasy quarterback in back-to-back seasons. Therefore, the Bears quarterback does have top-5 potential at the position in his career.

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Kyler Murray continues to be one of the most disrespected fantasy quarterbacks in the game. Although he is just 27 years old and coming off a QB10 fantasy finish in 2024, Murray is ranked outside the top 12 in most dynasty rankings at the quarterback position. That makes him a must-draft player in all dynasty startups.

Murray usually goes in the fourth or fifth round of most dynasty Superflex leagues, which feels too low for a quarterback who has finished top-10 in every season he has played at least 14 games (2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024). The only two seasons he didn't finish top-10 were because of a torn ACL he suffered in 2022 that caused him to miss half of the 2023 season.

As a result, Murray should be targeted in every dynasty format. He rushed for the second-most yards of his career last year (572) while throwing for 3,851 yards and 21 touchdowns. The 27-year-old also scored at least 19 fantasy points in eight of 17 games. With another year removed from that torn ACL, it wouldn't be a shock to see him post even better all-around numbers in 2025.

Marvin Harrison Jr. could break out in his sophomore season, and Trey McBride will remain a strong pass-catching option in this offense. Having two strong playmakers in the passing game should no doubt help Murray.

That makes the Cardinals quarterback one of the best pickups in dynasty startups. His rushing gives him a higher fantasy ceiling than most quarterbacks, and there's a strong chance that this Arizona offense will take off in 2025. Given Murray's rushing upside, passing on him in most dynasty formats is hard. The 27-year-old averaged 33.6 rush yards per game last season.

J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings

There's definitely some risk in taking J.J. McCarthy in dynasty startups. He missed the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury and didn't post strong numbers in his college career at Michigan. McCarthy only threw for a combined 5,710 yards and 44 touchdowns between the 2022 and 2023 college seasons.

Nevertheless, McCarthy should be selected in most dynasty leagues. He won't turn 23 years old until January and should find plenty of success in this Minnesota offense in his career. Just look at what Sam Darnold did with the Vikings last season. He threw for 4,319 yards and 35 touchdowns en route to a QB9 fantasy finish.

While it was quite shocking to see Darnold have a career year in 2024, it's not out of the question to see another Vikings quarterback succeed in this Kevin O'Connell offense. During the 2022 season, Kirk Cousins had one of the best seasons of his career in Minnesota. He threw for 4,547 yards and 29 touchdowns.

So, it would be wise to bet on McCarthy. He has a solid offensive line protecting him and one of the better wide receiver duos (Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison) to throw to in the league. At just 22 years old, he could be a strong QB1 for the next decade-plus in this Minnesota offense.

The former Michigan quarterback is currently going in the fifth or sixth round of most dynasty Superflex startups, making him an easy selection in drafts. The Vikings are one of the more pass-friendly offenses in the NFL, and McCarthy was one of the most accurate quarterbacks in college.

Jalen Milroe, Seattle Seahawks

There are a lot of concerns with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jalen Milroe. He didn't post great numbers in his final college campaign at Alabama, and his passing struggles are certainly something to note. Milroe only threw for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions for the Crimson Tide in 2024.

However, Milroe is worth the risk in the later rounds of dynasty leagues. He is just 22 years old and landed in a great spot in Seattle. The former Alabama product will be able to sit a few years before eventually taking over the Seahawks starting quarterback. That surely works in his favor after being selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Therefore, it might be a few years until dynasty owners reap the benefits of Milroe. But if he continues to develop and grow as a passer, he could be an outstanding fantasy quarterback in his career. That's because the Seahawks signal-caller was one of the best rushing quarterbacks in college last season.

Milroe ran for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns across 13 games at Alabama in 2024. He had seven multi-touchdown rushing days and rushed for over 70 yards on five occasions. His rushing upside should help him be a consistent fantasy quarterback once he eventually earns the starting job. Even though the rookie will initially back up Darnold, it's hard to pass on him in the later rounds of dynasty drafts.

Milroe usually goes in the 12th or 13th round of dynasty startups this offseason. That feels like a bargain for a quarterback with his rushing potential. The passing traits are also there for him to succeed after he finished the 2024 college season with a 93.1 deep pass PFF grade.
