Who should I start for Week 17? Fantasy football outlooks for Tyreek Hill, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.
Things really do change quickly. Fantasy football analysts would have been called insane last year if they had predicted that there would be legitimate start-sit questions around Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (wrist) this year.
Yet that's exactly where we are now. Fantasy managers who drafted Hill have been immeasurably disappointed by his lack of production. One of the most elites of the elite from just a year ago has become a league loser.
Hey, at least he's not on the Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately, wide receiver Jayden Reed is, and he and fellow WR Romeo Doubs get to split small pieces of a too-small pie in the passing game anyway. Let's break down all three of these guys and see who you should start in Week 17.
Should I Start Tyreek Hill for Fantasy Football?
INJURY UPDATE: Dolphins' QB Tua Tagovailoa has been downgraded to DOUBTFUL for Week 17. His absence would negatively impact Hill's fantasy value severely.
Reek recently had games of 20.3 and 28.1 PPR fantasy points. Wow, he's back! This is great. Now we can just slide him into our lineups and not worry about anything. Awesome. Perfect. We're in great shape, right? He's a league-winner again, right?
Um, no... In Week 15 he had 5.6 points and followed that up with 11.9 in Week 16. The misery of having him on fantasy rosters seemingly has no end. Still, you don't have a choice -- you pretty much have to start him unless you have other elite options.
Week 17 Single Coverage Monsters!
These are players who benefit the most from being in single coverage situations that play teams that allow the most single coverage situations.

He's also facing an awful, floundering Cleveland Browns team that sucks in coverage and should be easy to beat up on. There should be plenty of passing yards from QB Tua Tagovailoa this week. We expect No. 10 to have a nice game.
Should I Start Jayden Reed for Fantasy Football?
We wouldn't recommend it. Despite leading the team in receiving in Week 16 against a terrible New Orleans Saints pass defense, Reed still managed just 11.1 PPR fantasy points by catching three of his four targets for 76 yards and rushing once for five yards.

By now we know that his first game was a fluke. His usage just isn't good enough to be a good fantasy football option. He scored 27.1 PPR fantasy points against the Vikings in Week 4, coincidentally (not) in the only game he had eight or more targets.
He's had to have insane efficiency to overcome his lack of usage. He's averaging under 3.5 catches per game. Seriously. So we don't like starting him unless you're in a league with 14 or more teams. If fellow WR Christian Watson (knee) misses the game, though, Reed becomes a bit more palatable.

In that case, he's a decent option in 12-team leagues too.
Should I Start Romeo Doubs for Fantasy Football?
Doubs is stuck in a similar situation as Reed is. Though he gets more playing time, as he has a full-time role in the offense, Doubs still lacks the targets to make him a reliable option in fantasy football. He saw the ball thrown his way just three times in Week 16.

But, in deeper leagues, we'd start him, simply because of Watson's injury.
