Week 12 Wide Receiver Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Xavier Worthy, Kanas City Chiefs - Fantasy Football Outlook

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy will face the Carolina Panthers in Week 12. Worthy had one of his more productive games last week in the 21-30 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The rookie receiver was heavily involved in the game plan for the beginning of the game, catching four passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. Worthy did not have another catch for the rest of the game despite his early involvement.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes publicly stated that he needs to do a better job connecting with Worthy on deep passes since the young receiver is getting open. There will likely be an effort to push the ball downfield to Worthy in this contest since the Panthers are a beatable opponent. The Panthers rank 12th in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers this season, but that is simply because teams do not need to pass against the Panthers to win games.

The 21-year-old is ranked WR36 in our RotoBaller half-PPR rankings this week, making him a WR3/flex option in this contest. Fantasy managers dealing with bye weeks should have no issues finding a spot for Worthy in their starting lineups.

- Joshua Costello, RotoBaller

DJ Moore, Chicago Bears - Fantasy Football Outlook

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore is a risky WR3 option in Week 12 as he faces a challenging matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. He'll build on his momentum after a solid outing in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, where Moore hauled in six receptions for 62 yards. The recent change in offensive coordinator has seen Moore more involved in the quick passing game, a strategy that will be crucial against the Vikings' aggressive defense.

Minnesota ranks 4th in points per game allowed and 5th in EPA per pass, making it a tough matchup for any passing game. The Vikings also blitz at one of the highest rates in the NFL, which could pressure quarterback Caleb Williams and limit Moore's opportunities for downfield targets. However, with the Bears' new offensive playcalling, there is some hope for upside, significantly if the quick passes help Moore get into space.

While Moore is a risky WR3 with a tough matchup, his involvement in the passing game and the potential for volume could still provide a solid floor in PPR formats. Fantasy managers should temper expectations but keep him in flex consideration.

- Martin Grisko, RotoBaller

Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers - Fantasy Football Outlook

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings will take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday. The 27-year-old is making the most of his opportunity this year, filling in for an out-for-the-season Brandon Aiyuk. Jennings surpassed 20 half-PPR points last week versus Seattle by securing 10-of-11 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown.

The week before, in Tampa, Jennings was less productive but also had 11 targets. As a result, Jennings has surpassed teammate Deebo Samuel Sr. in fantasy value, at least for the moment. Jennings' job is a difficult one this week, however.

For one, Green Bay's pass defense has been better than Seattle's, ranking 12th-toughest on wide receivers in fantasy. More importantly, San Francisco will be without starting quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) and potentially All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams, who is questionable with an ankle injury. Even still, Jennings is in play for lineups in Week 12 as a firm WR2. He's earned it.
