Jerome Ford fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Jerome Ford for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB2
ANALYSIS: With Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) starting the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, Jerome Ford should be in line for an expanded role in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. Ford was a solid fantasy RB2 last season as the team's starter, averaging 12.4 PPR fantasy points from Week 3 to Week 18.
Now, he'll face a Cowboys defense in Week 1 that has struggled to stop the run in recent years. Dallas allowed 4.2 yards per carry to opposing running backs last season while also giving up 114.1 rush yards per game. Given that Chubb will sit out this week, Ford has some sneaky RB2 value in 12-plus team leagues to kick off the season.

With Chubb out for most of last season, Ford totaled at least 50 yards from scrimmage in 10 of 17 games. He was also extremely utilized in the passing game, catching 44 passes for 319 yards and five touchdowns through the air. As a result, the Browns running back is a solid play against the Cowboys in Week 1.
