MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/30/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Reynaldo Lopez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups - icon rotoballer

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on April 30, 2024. Use Euan's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters to win big.

Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! It's the final day of the first whole month of baseball, and, in classic baseball fashion, things don't look how we thought they would. The Rays and Astros are at the bottom of their divisions, and there's only one NL West team, the Dodgers, that is above .500. But remember, it's just the beginning of the season. Trust your strategies and the process you've built. A one-month sample size may not mean all that much come the end of the season, so continue to plug away. There's no need to overreact to 30 games of a 162-game season.

Tuesday's slate kicks off north of the border at 7:07 p.m. EDT, with Kansas City visiting Toronto. Then, we watch baseball all night before the final four games throw their first pitch at 9:40 p.m. EDT on the West Coast. On the weather front, nothing looks too bad as of this writing, but it may get a little windy in Oakland with over 11 mph winds blowing out toward right field.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/30/2024. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Follow me on X @EuanFPL for more DFS advice.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Reynaldo Lopez at Mariners ($9.5K DraftKings; $10,800 FanDuel)

It's tough to let go of preconceived notions, but Reynaldo Lopez is doing his best to make us believers. Through four starts, the former top pitching prospect has a 0.72 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 24 strikeouts through 25 innings. The advanced numbers (2.62 xERA, 17.4 percent K-BB%) tell us some regression is coming, but they also back up that Lopez is plain and simply pitching well. Regression to the mean shouldn't be in the cards on Tuesday versus a Seattle squad with the second-highest strikeout rate (28.1 percent) to right-handed pitchers.

MacKenzie Gore at Rangers ($8.1K DK; $8.0K FD)

If you want a contrarian pick at starting pitcher, MacKenzie Gore is your man against Texas. Most people think of Texas as this offensive juggernaut. However, through the first month, the Rangers have struggled versus southpaws. The reigning champions have the ninth-highest strikeout rate to LHPs and sit inside the bottom 10 for OPS, wOBA, and wRC+. Gore isn't the flashiest pick among the two dozen options at starting pitcher, but he's been startable with a 3.12 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 28.7 percent strikeout rate.

Simeon Woods Richardson at White Sox ($7.0K DK; $8.3K FD)

Among the 24 arms on the 12-game slate, Minnesota's Simeon Woods Richardson is the best bang-for-your-buck pitcher. The 23-year-old righty is making his third start and has the best matchup in baseball against the Chicago White Sox. The 2018 draft pick has done well through two starts with a 2.46 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and a 25 percent strikeout rate, averaging 19.1 DK PPG. Chicago owns the ninth-highest (24.3 percent) strikeout rate to RHPs and is dead last in almost every major hitting category.

Also consider: Freddy Peralta vs. TB, Jon Gray vs. WSH, Mitch Keller at OAK, Logan Webb at BOS, Spencer Turnbull at LAA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Alec Bohm - 1B/3B, PHI at Tyler Anderson ($4.8K DK; $3.7K FD)

A season-long 1.047 OPS is great for Alec Bohm, but he's been on an absolute tear for the last week and a half. Over his last 10 games, the Phillies corner infielder has a 1.394 OPS with nine doubles, a triple, and a home run, with eight runs and 12 RBI while averaging 13.9 DK PPG. He's settled in as the cleanup hitter for Philadelphia and is in a fantastic spot batting behind Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, and Bryce Harper. As a team, the Phillies rank inside the top nine versus LHPs (like Tyler Anderson) in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+.

Josh Rojas - 2B/3B, SEA vs. Reynaldo Lopez ($3.4K DK; $2.7K FD)

While Reynaldo Lopez is (deservedly) the top pitcher on the slate, it's tough to pass on the value Josh Rojas provides. Batting leadoff for any team gets you on the DFS radar, and his price points on both sites make him a tremendous value. Over his last 10 games, the Seattle infielder slashes .281/.343/.656 with eight runs, five extra-base hits (three home runs), three RBI, and a steal. DFS managers shouldn't expect much from Rojas on Tuesday night, but his price means he doesn't need to produce too much to pay off.

Jeremy Pena - SS, HOU vs. Carlos Carrasco ($4.6K DK; $3.0K FD) - Better on FanDuel

It's taken a while, but Jeremy Pena appears to be turning a corner in 2024. During the first 16 games, the Astros shortstop had two extra-base hits. However, in the last dozen contests, Pena's muscled four doubles and a home run with a .304 batting average. The 26-year-old mustered five multi-hit efforts in this stretch and could add to his power numbers against Carlos Carrasco (45.1 percent hard-hit rate allowed). Pena is a little expensive on DK but very affordable on FD at his Tuesday night price.

Also consider: William Contreras, Carlos Santana, Mookie Betts, Maikel Garcia, Francisco Lindor

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Adolis Garcia - OF, TEX vs. MacKenzie Gore ($5.6K DK; $4.0K FD)

To take down a slate, you need to raise your ceiling and give yourself a chance to roster someone with a massive upside. Adolis Garcia is a superb candidate for that role. Over the last 10 games, Garcia has 10 hits and two walks for a .270 batting average and a .300 OBP. However, eight of those 10 hits have gone for extra bases (four doubles, four home runs) to produce a .703 SLG and 1.003 OPS. When the Rangers outfielder connects, it usually goes a long way. That's the power potential you want in your DFS lineup.

Patrick Wisdom - 1B/3B/OF, CHC at Sean Manaea ($3.6K DK; $2.5K FD) - Only OF eligible on DK

The Cubs are on a run of facing nine right-handed starters in a row before it ends tonight against left-handed hurler Sean Manaea. Patrick Wisdom hit second in the previous two games where Chicago met a lefty. The Cubs utility bat doesn't have enough plate appearances to qualify for the leaderboards, but he's sporting a ludicrous 50 percent Barrel rate and a 66.7 percent hard-hit rate this year. Those numbers pair nicely with Manaea because the Mets lefty sits in the bottom 30 percent for Barrel and hard-hit rate allowed.

Andy Pages - OF, LAD at Jordan Montgomery ($3.3K DK; $2.9K FD)

Fantasy managers usually take notice when Los Angeles calls up a prospect because, more often than not, it goes well for that player. Andy Pages seems like another chapter to that tale. The rookie has come up and, through 11 games, sports a .861 OPS with 10 runs, four doubles, two home runs, and five RBI. The 10 strikeouts to zero walks is a longer-term concern, but Pages is performing right now. Plus, with a lefty on the mound, the 23-year-old outfielder could bat higher in a devastating Dodgers lineup.

Also consider: Kyle Tucker, Wilyer Abreu, Tyler O'Neill, Trevor Larnach, Jo Adell
