The NASCAR Cup Series ran the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 this past Sunday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway with Chase Elliott breaking his winless streak and getting to victory lane for the first time since the 2022 season.
Tyler Reddick, who finished fourth, had the best Average Running Position (6.46) while race-winner, Elliott, came home third-best in that category. Two notables that wrecked late but ran up front for most of the day were Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain, who had Average Running Positions of 7.77 and 9.58 (respectively) but finished 30th and 32nd.
Of the top five finishers in this weekend's race, Daniel Suarez had the worst Average Running Position (20.23), ranking just 23rd-best in that statistic but finishing fifth. This race was all about track position, as it was very hard to pass the cars near the front.
