MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/9/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Mike Trout - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on April 9, 2024. Euan's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! After a week and a half of strange scheduling and random days off, we are finally getting into the regular rhythm of the baseball season. We have 11 games to fill our DFS lineups tonight with plenty of pitchers and boatloads of bats.

The contests begin at 7:05 p.m. EDT as the Marlins meet the Yankees in New York. The night's final game takes place in San Diego as the Cubs travel to the Padres. The weather doesn't look too bad for the slate, with some strong winds blowing out in San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles to take into consideration. It also looks like the Mets-Braves matchup could see some rain.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/9/2024. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Follow me on X @EuanFPL for more DFS advice.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tyler Glasnow at Twins ($10.1K DraftKings; $10.0K FanDuel)

In three starts with his new team, things are going relatively well for Tyler Glasnow. Across 17 innings, the former Tampa Bay Ray has 15 strikeouts, two wins, a 3.18 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and averages 18.4 DraftKings PPG. His pitch count and strikeout numbers have all climbed from start to start, and he'll have a chance to do that again versus Minnesota. Glasnow's strikeout potential (34.7 percent strikeout rate from 2021-2023) will mesh nicely with the Twins and their fourth-highest strikeout rate (26.9 percent) to right-handed pitchers.

Zack Wheeler at Cardinals ($9.6K DK; $10.6K FD)

If Glasnow is 1A, Zack Wheeler is 1B on this slate. You can take the cheaper arm on each site and be extremely comfortable with them as your SP1. He came out firing last time against Cincinnati, as the 33-year-old sent 10 Reds back to the dugout via strikeout over six innings. The veteran hurler has a 0.75 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, and a 31.3 percent strikeout rate in two starts. Those numbers will pair well against a Cardinals team with the third-highest strikeout rate (27.1 percent) to RHPs and bottom-10 numbers in wOBA and wRC+.

Aaron Civale at Angels ($7.7K DK; $9.2K FD)

It shouldn't take too much tweaking to find an extra $800 on FanDuel to get from Aaron Civale to Tyler Glasnow, but he's a fantastic SP2 option on DraftKings. Civale's strikeout tendency from 2023 has carried over to 2024, with 14 strikeouts over 12 innings. Unfortunately, so has his home run problem with two allowed in two starts. However, Los Angeles is posting bottom-six numbers in average, OBP, SLG, wOBA, and wRC+, with the eighth-highest strikeout rate (25.6 percent) to righties. Fire Civale up as your SP2.

Also consider: George Kirby at TOR, Nathan Eovaldi vs. OAK, Merrill Kelly at COL, Carlos Rodon vs. MIA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Joey Gallo - 1B/OF, WAS at Kyle Harrison ($3.2K DK; $2.8K FD)

Joey Gallo is with Washington these days and has five hits through eight games. Fortunately, the veteran slugger is living up to his reputation, as four of those five hits have gone for extra bases. The wind is blowing out tonight in San Francisco, and it should spell good news for Gallo and his teammates because Giants pitcher Kyle Harrison is giving up a lot of hard contact, and he's already allowed three home runs in two starts. There will be some baseballs to fish out of McCovey Cove on Tuesday.

Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU at Cole Ragans ($5.2K DK; $3.8K FD)

Second base is stacked on Tuesday night, so we will get Jose Altuve at a lower roster rate than usual. Houston's leadoff man is having a great start to the 2024 campaign with a .341 average and 1.045 OPS to accompany nine runs, four doubles, three home runs, and 9.8 DK PPG. Cole Ragans is a popular pitcher, and we can gain leverage on the field going against him. Through a week and a half, Houston has somewhat struggled against southpaws, but a bottom-six strikeout rate and a top-nine ISO show encouraging signs for this offense.

Oswaldo Cabrera - 3B/OF, NYY vs. A.J. Puk ($3.5K DK; $2.6K FD)

Despite being anchored to the bottom third of New York's lineup, Oswaldo Cabrera still delivers the fantasy goods. He's had at least four plate appearances in six of his eight games this year behind a Yankees lineup posting top-10 numbers in runs, RBI, and OPS. His price point on Tuesday's slate turns him into a perfect jigsaw piece for those looking to use minimal salary at some spots while loading up at pitcher, especially on FanDuel. On DraftKings, Cabrera is the 21st-most expensive third baseman despite having the fifth-best PPG mark.

Also consider: Bryce Harper, Brendan Donovan, Alex Kirilloff, Luis Arraez, Maikel Garcia

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Mike Trout - OF, LAA vs. Aaron Civale ($5.7K DK; $3.7K FD)

After an injury-plagued 2023, Mike Trout is proving that, when healthy, he's still one of the best players on the planet. He's a much better value on FanDuel than DraftKings, but he can be played on either site. Through his first 10 games, the three-time MVP is slashing .297/.381/.757 with seven runs, five home runs, six RBI, and two steals. One more steal will be his highest total since 2019, so he's showing us he intends to run more this year. This raises the floor even higher for one of the premier picks in the game.

Teoscar Hernandez - OF, LAD at Louie Varland ($4.8K DK; $3.5K FD)

We aren't even at the two-week mark of the 2024 season, but Teoscar Hernandez has already shown us his ceiling in this Dodgers lineup. The slugging outfielder has a two-homer game and three games with at least three RBI in the first week and a half. He usually bats between fourth and sixth in this ludicrous Los Angeles lineup but produces regardless. Louie Varland only managed four innings in his first start of the year, so the Dodgers should get a good look at a Twins bullpen that came into the series with the fourth-fewest innings in the league.

MJ Melendez - OF, KCR vs. Cristian Javier ($3.4K DK; $2.9K FD)

If you want some bang for your buck on Tuesday's slate, then MJ Melendez is your man. The Royals outfielder is having a red-hot start to the 2024 season and isn't showing signs of slowing down. In his first nine games, Melendez has a .323 average with a 1.124 OPS, plus four doubles, three home runs, and eight RBI. All three longballs have come in his last four games, but he's smacked at least one extra-base hit in six of nine games. Cristian Javier has a 0.00 ERA, but a 5.35 SIERA with a 100 percent Left On Base record. Regression is coming.

Also consider: Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Michael Conforto, Seiya Suzuki, Mookie Betts, Jazz Chisholm Jr.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Arizona Diamondbacks at Cal Quantrill

2. Atlanta Braves vs. Adrian Houser

3. Texas Rangers vs. Alex Wood
