Philadelphia Flyers forward Noah Cates will miss the next six-to-eight-weeks due to a lower-body injury. Cates briefly left Saturday's game against the Islanders after blocking a shot by Islanders blueliner Ryan Pulock, recognized as one of the hardest shooters in the game. However, Cates did return and even logged a shift in overtime as part of his club's 1-0 shootout win. The 24-year-old is in the midst of his second full season with the Flyers and has recorded one goal and four points with 19 shots and a minus-three rating through 21 games, averaging 14:25 of ice time per game in the process. Expect Garnet Hathaway to see an increased role in Cates' absence, especially on the team's second power-play unit.--Brenton Kemp
