Few people seriously considered the eliminated playoff drivers as contenders for yesterday's event, but the eliminated drivers had other ideas. Not only did Ross Chastain rebuild his reputation with a dominant win outdueling the playoff contenders, but Chris Buescher significantly contended too. Buescher probably had winning speed as he passed Chastain for the lead in the middle of the race before a slow pit stop relegated him to eighth. He probably could have repassed the playoff drivers as he did earlier in the race but likely elected not to in order to not interfere with the championship battle. Regardless, Buescher had an impressive season and his pass of Chastain allowed him to overtake eventual champion Ryan Blaney for the best lead change percentage in 2023.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerRead More News
