Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederick Andersen is out indefinitely with blood clotting issues but is expected to make a full recovery, according to general manager Don Waddell. Veteran goaltender Jaroslav Halak has been signed to a free agent tryout to help replace the 34-year-old Andersen between the pipes for Carolina. Andersen has battled a variety of injuries over the last several seasons after logging at least 60 appearances for three straight seasons from 2016-17 through the 2018-19 campaign. He has turned in a 2.87 goals-against average and an .894 save percentage across six games this season after working to a 2.48 GAA and .903 Sv% across just 34 games last season. His lengthy injury history continues to put a cap on his fantasy value.--Brenton Kemp
