Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mike Matheson (lower body) returned to action as the team closed out the preseason with a 6-4 win over Ottawa Saturday night. The veteran blue-liner made an immediate impact, with Juraj Slafkovsky opening the scoring just 33 seconds into the game off Matheson's assist. In 20:25 of ice time, Matheson added five shots on goal to his tally with one block and one hit. The return of Matheson is huge for the Canadiens after the 29-year-old became a leader on the blue line last season.
