Max Stassi To Miss Rest Of The Season
Max Stassi was placed on the restricted list on Sunday and will miss the rest of the season as he continues to tend to a family emergency. Stassi hasn't appeared in a game this year. "Max informed the Angels that while he is in a position to resume activities to return to MLB, he has voluntarily chosen not to do so for the remainder of the 2023 season as a result of a serious family medical issue," the Angels said in a statement. The 32-year-old backstop began the year on the injured list with a hip injury and was moved to the 60-day IL in June. Stassi will be back with the Angels in 2024 for the final year of a three-year, $17.5 million extension. Rookie Logan O'Hoppe will close out this year as the Halos' primary catcher.
