Free-agent forward Alex Galchenyuk is moving to Europe, having signed a two-year deal with KHL powerhouse SKA Saint Petersburg. Galchenyuk inked a one-year deal as a free agent with the Arizona Coyotes on July 1, but the contract was terminated less than two weeks later after the 29-year-old had a run-in with the law. He pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor threatening charge in court this week while having five other charges dropped. The former third-overall pick has skated in 654 regular-season games in the NHL, recording 354 points (146 goals, 208 assists). He enjoyed his most successful campaign in 2015-16 with the Montreal Canadiens when Galchenyuk scored 30 goals and had 26 assists in 82 games. The 2022-23 season ended pointless for him in 11 outings with the Colorado Avalanche.--Taavi PailkRead More News
