EPL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings (8/19/23) - English Premier League Soccer Matchweek 2

MLS DFS Lineup Picks DraftKings - Major League Soccer stock

Brandon's DraftKings EPL DFS lineup picks for English Premier League Soccer on 8/19/23 (Matchweek 2). His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back to “The Kick-Off” and welcome to the 23-24 season! Finally, a new season is here and we can welcome back our beloved Futbol. Many clubs have made big moves this offseason to help bolster their cup chances and chances of getting a European spot for next season. Will we see a new title winner this season or will Liverpool and Manchester City continue to battle it out for the top spot?

The top favorite this weekend is Liverpool -480 vs AFC Bournemouth +1200. I will guide you through this three-match slate starting at 10:00 A.M. EST.

If you have any questions on today's slate, bankroll management, GPP strategy, Cash game strategy, or anything else, don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected], via Twitter @df_solutions, or in our Discord chat rooms.

EPL DFS Goalies

Goalies

Bernd Leno - DK $4.7K || FD $10

Opponent - Brentford FC

Leno is coming off a big 23-24 season debut where he amassed 9 saves and a clean sheet en route to a 29.8 score on DraftKings. Now he gets another relatively friendly fixture at home against Brentford, despite them drawing 2-2 with Tottenham. With such a small slate this Saturday and Liverpool the overwhelming ‘chalk’ favorites, it will be imperative to be ‘different’ somewhere in your lineup and this is a great spot to start. Many will be jumping ship to both Alison and Steele, however, Leno is just as capable of hitting a similar or better score this weekend at much lower ownership.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Alisson (DK $5.9K || FD $14), Steele (DK $5.5K || FD $11)

EPL DFS Forwards

Diego Jota - DK $7.7K || FD $20

Opponent - AFC Bournemouth

In 66 minutes in his season debut, Jota took one shot, created one chance and made one tackle in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. Now he gets a much ‘friendlier’ matchup against Bournemouth at home. Despite the Cherries’ best efforts, they were the second-worst club in Goals Against Per 90 last year – 1.98 – and the worst club in Shots Against Per 90 – 18.3 –. They did show some promise with their 1-1 draw at home with West Ham United, however, they have yet to go up against one of the ‘elites’ of the top flight. In 22 domestic appearances – 12 starts – last season for Jota, he had 7 goals, 4 assists, 35 shots, 17 created chances, 8 crosses and 23 tackles.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Salah (DK $11K || FD $23), Raul (DK $5.6K || FD $17)

EPL DFS Midfielders

Pedro Neto - DK $3.8K || FD $15

Opponent - Brighton & Hove Albion

This is by far the biggest ‘LOCK’ play of the slate. There is zero reason Neto is less than $7K on DraftKings and it is most likely due to his matchup against Brighton, despite it being at home. In his season debut, he had 3 shots, 4 created chances, 15 crosses and 6 corners. Keep in mind that the performance was against Manchester United at Old Trafford. With many stacking Liverpool every possible way, Neto is going to be a key piece to the puzzle and he may be one of the biggest value plays of the entire season.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Pereira (DK $7.6K || FD $14), Szoboszlai (DK $6.1K || FD $16)

EPL DFS Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold - DK $7.9K || FD $14

Opponent - AFC Bournemouth

TAA is the cream of the crop when it comes to defenders in the Premier League and most leagues at that. His attacking abilities are far beyond most fullbacks and it shows. However, there is plenty of risk on the defensive side of the pitch as many witnessed last season. Despite the risks, Alexander-Arnold is no stranger to racking up peripherals and if the rumors of Salah potentially leaving are true, he may be in store for his biggest season yet! AFC Bournemouth has made plenty of additions to their starting XI, however, it remains to be seen if they can keep up with the big guns yet. Over 37 domestic matches – 34 starts – last season, Alexander-Arnold had 2 goals, 9 assists, 40 shots, 71 created chances, 252 crosses, 98 corners, 57 tackles, 43 interceptions and 36 clearances.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Robertson (DK $6.2K || FD $14), van Hecke (DK $2.7K || FD $12)

Corner Takers

  • Fulham FC: Pereira
  • Brentford: Mbeumo/Jensen
  • Liverpool: Alexander-Arnold
  • AFC Bournemouth: Brooks/Rothwell
  • Wolverhampton: Neto
  • Brighton & Hove Albion: Gross/March

Thanks for reading The Kick-Off. Good luck in all of your contests today!
