Ronny Mauricio Day-To-Day With Bone Bruise

New York Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio (ankle) is being considered day-to-day after an MRI exam showed a bone bruise in his left ankle. The team's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, suffered the injury with Triple-A Syracuse during a collision at second base on June 4. The 22-year-old looks like he'll avoid a trip to the injured list, but he'll probably rest until he's pain-free. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues may want to stash him now, as Mauricio was nearing an MLB promotion before the injury. The Dominican switch-hitter has hit .320 (80-for-250) with 23 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 35 RBI and nine stolen bases in 60 games for Syracuse. Mauricio will need to show better plate discipline and take more walks if he's going to hit for average in the big leagues.
