Calgary Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov had the game of his life Wednesday against San Jose, scoring his first career hat trick in a 3-1 win. He became only the second defenseman ever to score a natural hat trick for the Flames. The club previously had only five rearguards in total with a hat trick in a game. Zadorov is known as a stay-at-home defenseman, so his Wednesday's performance came completely out of the blue. The 27-year-old, who had never previously had a multi-goal game, wrapped up his ninth season in the league with 21 points in 82 games. He also had 130 shots on goal, 174 hits and 75 blocks with 80 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
