Adalberto Mondesi Works Out Wednesday

Boston Red Sox shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (knee) had a good day at spring training on Wednesday while hitting and taking ground balls. Mondesi is expected to increase his workload in the coming days in camp, but he's still not expected to be ready for Opening Day at the end of March. The 27-year-old could bump Enrique Hernandez back to the outfield when he's fully healthy. Mondesi entered the league with plenty of potential from a speed perspective, but injuries have hurt him recently. He suffered a torn ACL in 2022 and played in only 15 games for the Kansas City Royals. It's also possible that he could form a platoon with Hernandez at short when he's ready, which would limit his fantasy appeal in deeper leagues.
