Austin Cindric was right around the top-ten when it came to times in practice. His laps were in the low to mid 29's and his Team Penske car was gaining speed. As the track warmed up for qualifying, the No. 2 Ford managed to end up ninth at 29.401 seconds. That was a bit over a tenth of a second faster than his average practice laps. Cindric has always qualified well at Las Vegas (second and third last year). However, he ended up 19th and 29th. The Fall race saw him run very well in the top ten before smacking the wall then having up stop late. Cindric is improving on intermediate tracks.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
