The Milwaukee Brewers signed free-agent right-hander Thyago Vieira to a minor-league contract on Thursday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Vieira has pitched in Japan since 2020 and was pretty successful, posting a 2.86 ERA with 150 strikeouts and 61 walks in 125 2/3 innings out of the bullpen. In three seasons in the major leagues before heading overseas, the 29-year-old reliever had a 7.36 ERA (5.32 FIP), 1.79 WHIP, one save and a 19.2 percent strikeout rate in 25 2/3 relief innings for the Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox. Thyago will be competing to be middle-relief depth for the Brewers bullpen in spring training.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
