Jake Arrieta Announces Retirement
Jake Arrieta announced his retirement from the MLB on Monday. He made the announcement as a guest on the Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take, saying, "I haven't signed the papers, man, but I'm done. It's time for me to step away from the game." The 36-year-old spent 12 years in the majors. He came up with the Baltimore Orioles but had his biggest impact during his time with the Chicago Cubs. He claimed the 2015 NL Cy Young award after going 22-6 with a 1.77 ERA and a 0.865 WHIP. He finishes his career with 115 wins and a 3.98 ERA.
