Will Shedeur Sanders be a first-round pick? Is the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and son of Deion "Prime" Sanders good enough to be selected early in the 2025 NFL Draft? Read RotoBallers NFL Draft analysis.
Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders has solidified himself as one of the best quarterbacks in college football, and there are now serious discussions about him being an early first-round draft pick. He's thrown for 2,882 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, and led his team to a 7-2 record. He's also rushed for four scores.
It's been a big turnaround for the Buffs, who went 1-11 in 2022 and 4-8 in 2023, and the team now has a shot at making the new College Football Playoffs, which expanded to 12 teams. No. 2 has thoroughly impressed NFL scouts along the way.
So, will Sanders follow in his father's footsteps and be a first-round pick? Let's take a look and see which teams may draft the young quarterback.
Will Shedeur Sanders Be A First-Round Pick?
Yes. There is little doubt that "Prime Jr." will be chosen in the first round. In fact, he should easily be in the top 10 picks, and the way NFL teams have drafted QBs recently, there wouldn't be much surprise if he was in the top five. It's nearly impossible for an NFL franchise to make playoff runs without a starting-caliber signal-caller.

Mock drafts by experts and analysts nearly unanimously project Sanders to be one of the first 10 players taken.
Who Will Draft Shedeur Sanders?
There are many teams in play for a potential top-5 selection in next year's draft, but clearly, only a team that doesn't view their starting quarterback as the QB of the future will be interested in Sanders. One of those teams is the New York Giants. They've stuck with QB Daniel Jones thus far, and it's been a disaster.

The Las Vegas Raiders are unlikely to trot out Gardner Minshew II or Aidan O'Connell in 2024, meaning they'll be in the hunt for a new face under center as well. It seems like it's the place he wants to go as well.
