Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
J.K. Dobbins, RB, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins has been consistent through the first five weeks of the season, with roughly 14 points per game on average. Dobbins will look to keep things rolling in the London game versus the New York Jets. While more questions were coming into the season around how much the Broncos would lean on Dobbins as opposed to the rookie RJ Harvey, Week 5 may have finally cleared that up for fantasy managers.
The former Baltimore Raven was the clear lead back ahead of Harvey in Denver's offense with 21 touches in the game. The Jets' defense has averaged 140.4 rushing yards allowed per game on the season, ranking 27th. Dobbins is a solid bet to maintain his highly efficient 5.22 YPC this season while exploiting the Jets in London on Sunday.
RJ Harvey, RB, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey will continue to back up veteran J.K. Dobbins in the London game versus the New York Jets. Harvey has been solid for the Broncos when given the opportunity to flash for the offense. Still, with Dobbins being so reliable this season, Harvey has continued to be suppressed in the backfield. The Broncos' rookie received four carries compared to Dobbins, who had 20 rushing attempts last Sunday versus the Eagles.
However, what's most notable is that he has been getting more consistent work in the passing game since Week 3, averaging 3.7 targets per game. The Jets' defense ranks at the bottom of the league, allowing 31.4 points per game. With the limited touches, it's going to be challenging to depend on Harvey as anything outside of a FLEX play. Harvey comes in as RB36 in the latest RotoBaller rankings for Week 6.
Mason Taylor, TE, New York Jets
Rookie tight end Mason Taylor and the New York Jets offense will be tested in Week 6 when they face a staunch Denver Broncos defense in London. The LSU product is an ascending asset in the Jets' pass attack, racking up an impressive 19 targets (14/132) over the previous two contests - the most of any New York receiver.
It's an encouraging sign for his outlook moving forward, but fantasy managers may want to exercise caution slotting him into their lineups for the team's bout with Denver's defense.
The Broncos are more beatable through the air than on the ground, but are still affording opposing tight ends an average of just four receptions and 42.6 yards per game - the seventh- and eleventh-fewest marks in the league. Taylor figures to get a sizable target share. Still, his production is primarily tied to Fields' performance against a durable Denver D. The 21-year-old is RotoBaller's PPR TE14 for Sunday's slate of action.
Bo Nix, QB, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix comes into Week 6 as the fantasy football QB12 overall after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles for their first loss of the season in Week 5. With eight passing touchdowns on the season and four interceptions, Nix has seemingly picked up where he left off last season instead of reverting to his slow start in his rookie year.
The 25-year-old will look to keep things going in the London game against the New York Jets on Sunday. The Jets' defense has been weaker against the run than the pass this season and no longer looks to be the intimidating defense it once was. With this in mind, the Broncos may look to run the ball more than pass. Nix should still be dependable as a fringe-QB1 for fantasy managers.
Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets
New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson will get a resilient Denver Broncos team this Sunday when the two squads square off in London. The Broncos are one of the better all-around defensive units in the league, and have been solid against opposing passing attacks, yielding 200.2 passing yards per game (eighth-fewest). While there is some concern for the 25-year-old's ceiling in this contest, Wilson has been outstanding thus far.
Even including a down outing against the Bills in Week 2, he ranks third among all pass-catchers in target share (32.9%), seventh in yards (382), and fourth in targets (48), corraling four touchdowns through the first five games. Wilson's target-hog role in New York's offense will keep his weekly floor high, and rookie tight end Mason Taylor shouldn't dent his value too much, if at all. The Ohio State Product comes in as RotoBaller's PPR WR10 ahead of Week 6.
