Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 5:
Deebo Samuel Jr., WR, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. has had an outstanding start to the season and his time in Washington. He's shouldered a big load for the Commanders' passing attack as they deal with multiple injuries.
He leads the team in targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Not to mention, he's been the best kick returner in football, averaging a league-best 36.8 yards per return. Samuel will be leaned on heavily again in Week 5 as Washington will be without wide receivers Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) for the second straight game and Noah Brown (groin) for the third straight.
The Washington offense also gets a big boost with star quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) returning to the field in Week 5. It's a tougher matchup against a Chargers defense that has allowed the fourth fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, but Samuel still ranks as a borderline WR1 for Sunday.
Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston is now firmly established as the team's top wideout entering Week 5, leading in targets, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
The former first-round pick was one of the few bright spots in the team's first loss to the New York Giants, catching eight of 11 targets for 98 yards and his fourth touchdown of the season. Johnston now faces a vulnerable Washington Commanders secondary in a prime home matchup.
He is expected to draw coverage from CB Marshon Lattimore, but the Commanders' overall passing defense has been significantly exposed, ranking 27th in the NFL in passing yards allowed. RotoBaller upgrades Johnston to WR12 this week. Given his target volume and big-play ability, he is a borderline WR1 and a must-start in all formats.
Xavier Worthy, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
In his first game back since dislocating his shoulder three snaps into the season, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy caught five of his team-leading eight targets for 83 yards. He added 38 yards on the ground, as the team had a clear goal of putting the ball in the hands of their most dynamic playmaker.
Against a depleted Ravens defense, the Chiefs put up 37 points after averaging only 20 across their first three games. With Rashee Rice still serving the final two games of his six-game suspension, Worthy should see continued success in what could turn into high-scoring affairs against the Jaguars and Lions.
He will still be playable upon Rice's return, but fantasy managers blessed with the depth to take a wait-and-see approach might want to give it a game to see what the Chiefs' offense looks like at that point, as Worthy, Rice, and Marquise Brown have never played a game together.
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. caught six of his 10 targets for 66 yards and a touchdown during Thursday's Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The former first-round pick had a very poor showing in the first half as he caught just one pass.
Furthermore, he appeared to give up on a play that resulted in an interception, and a different target intended for him later in the half resulted in a second interception. He cleaned things up in the second half, though, helping Arizona mount a comeback effort before ultimately falling on a last-second field goal.
Harrison bounced back enough to deliver 18.6 fantasy points (PPR), setting a new season high. He'll look to carry this momentum into next week's game against the struggling Tennessee Titans.
Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets
New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson caught six of eight targets for 82 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins on Monday night.
Wilson has caught a touchdown in three of four games to begin the 2025 season, and he could have had two if he hadn't gotten called for a very questionable offensive pass interference call. The entire Jets' passing offense has been centered around Wilson, and he has been peppered with targets.
His 38 targets through four games are the fifth most in the NFL. But the Jets continue to be very run-heavy with Justin Fields, which limits the opportunities and upside for Wilson in fantasy. He's so talented that he is still able to make it work. Wilson should be viewed as a WR1 for next week's matchup against Dallas.
