Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 18:

Stefon Diggs, WR, New England Patriots

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is expected to play in a Week 18 game against the Dolphins, days after being charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery. The Patriots released a statement on Tuesday, showing support for their 32-year-old receiver, and with Diggs' arraignment not scheduled until January 23rd, it does not appear that any punishment or suspension is imminent.

Diggs enters the week with 82 receptions and 970 yards, and with contract incentives for both 90 receptions and 1,000 yards, it would come as no surprise if he is heavily involved on Sunday. The number one seed in the AFC is still in play for the Patriots, and they are expected to play their starters, so their final game against Miami is one to be looked at by any fantasy managers still playing for a Week 18 championship.

Emanuel Wilson, RB, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson would be in line for a significant snap share during Week 18's road outing with the Vikings if the team decides to rest its starting unit. The 26-year-old had already begun to see the field more, operating in an increased capacity over his previous two appearances, while teammate Josh Jacobs dealt with knee and ankle injuries.

Despite placing third in snaps for Saturday's loss to Baltimore, Wilson led the backfield with 16 rushing yards and saw just one fewer carry than Jacobs' four. With the news that head coach Matt LaFleur has considered sitting the first-string unit ahead of next Sunday's game against Minnesota, Wilson would be poised for substantial utilization alongside Brooks. He's a good speculative add for fantasy managers still hanging around either way.

Kyle Monangai, RB, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai is still getting plenty of work in the backfield, and he's a strong grab if he's on the waiver wire as the Bears continue to push for the second seed in the NFC. Monangai had eight carries and three catches against the 49ers, totaling 38 rushing yards and nine receiving yards. D'Andre Swift had nine carries and two catches but was more productive with two rushing touchdowns.

Monangai could get a little more work if the Bears look to get Swift some rest before the playoffs, and the matchup against the Lions should be a solid one, since Detroit's defense has struggled down the stretch, giving up seven running back touchdowns in the last three weeks.

Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum (ankle) was seen working off to the side during the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday, according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN. Corum sprained his ankle in the second quarter of Monday night's loss to the Atlanta Falcons and never returned. The 25-year-old did not practice on Wednesday, putting his availability in question for the Week 18 regular-season finale this weekend against the division-rival Arizona Cardinals.

Backfield mate Kyren Williams is also dealing with an ankle injury, but he was limited in Wednesday's practice. The Rams are already locked into either the No. 5 or No. 6 playoff spot in the NFC, so they won't push Corum to play against Arizona if he's not ready. If he's active, he could see a smaller share of the backfield touches in Week 18, making him a shaky RB3/flex option in fantasy right now.

RJ Harvey, RB, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey stole the show again in the Week 17 20-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Harvey had 14 carries for 43 yards and added a team-leading five catches on six targets for 33 yards with a receiving touchdown in the final minutes that won them the game. This touchdown marks Harvey's 12th of his rookie season and came on a play that displayed elite chemistry with quarterback Bo Nix.

Harvey and the Broncos will host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18 as they look to clinch the top seed in the AFC with another win.
