Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 18:

Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet had 18 carries, 110 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns during Sunday's Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers. He also caught two passes for an additional 12 receiving yards. The Seattle backfield has been nearly impossible to predict on a weekly basis this year, and Week 17 was no different. Kenneth Walker III led the backfield last week, and evidently, it was Charbonnet's turn this Sunday.

While the 24-year-old did lead the team in carries, it's even more interesting to note that he out-snapped Walker with a 53.7% snap share. He has now played more than half of the snaps in three consecutive games, maintaining a trend of increased involvement. Charbonnet is firmly in the mix as a solid RB2 option for fantasy football ahead of Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Kyren Williams, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams recorded 13 carries for 92 yards to go along with three catches (three targets) for 38 receiving yards in Monday night's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Williams posted his third game with at least 100 yards from scrimmage this season and his most since Week 5. His 38 receiving yards were also his most in a game since Week 6. The increased workload came with backfield mate Blake Corum injuring his ankle in the first half and never returning.

The 25-year-old has remained one of the most steady producers in fantasy football due to his volume of touches and improved rushing efficiency this season. However, he hasn't scored in back-to-back games for the first time this season, which is unfortunate timing for fantasy managers relying on him in the fantasy playoffs. The Rams will round out their regular season against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18.

Jalen Coker, Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers' offense was virtually non-existent in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, with quarterback Bryce Young throwing for only 54 yards on the day. Wide receiver Jalen Coker caught both of his targets for only 16 yards, but that was good enough to lead the team. The dud performance broke a string of six straight games in which Coker had at least three receptions.

In Weeks 13, 15, and 16, the 24-year-old pass-catcher had a combined 11 receptions on 15 targets for 181 yards and two touchdown grabs as he appeared to be trending towards becoming the No. 2 WR behind rookie first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan. The entire Carolina offense should bounce back this weekend in the Week 18 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the NFC South title and a trip to the postseason on the line. Don't count out Coker being a serviceable WR4/flex option in deeper fantasy football leagues.

Adonai Mitchell, WR, New York Jets

New York Jets wide receiver Adonai Mitchell will retain decent flex value for Sunday's meeting with a formidable New England Patriots' defense at MetLife Stadium. The Texas native has primarily operated as the team's WR1 since coming over via trade with the Indianapolis Colts. In six appearances, Mitchell has racked up at least six looks in each, although his output has been anything but consistent. Still, even with rookie signal-caller Brady Cook under center, the wideout is worthy of a high-upside flex, despite a challenging outing against the Pats at home.

Cook's inexperience undoubtedly caps Mitchell's ceiling. However, the latter has been the most likely Jets' skill player to hit pay dirt, picking up six red zone opportunities during his tenure - the most of any New York WR. While Mitchell's floor is low, his athleticism and big-play ability make him an enticing low-end asset in the fantasy playoffs. He'll rank as RotoBaller's PPR WR46 for Week 17's clash.

Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton struggled in the 20-13 win against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17. Coming off two back-to-back WR1 consensus outings, Sutton was held to four catches on 10 targets for 40 yards and zero touchdowns as the Chiefs' defense keyed on restricting the passing game. Sutton did lead the team in receiving yards and targets, but the lone passing touchdown from quarterback Bo Nix went to rookie running back RJ Harvey to win them the game in the final minutes.

While this outing was a disappointment for fantasy managers who started Sutton in Week 17, his performance still allowed him to surpass 1,000 yards receiving for the second straight season. The Broncos will face the Los Angeles Chargers at home in Week 18.
