Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:
Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (concussion) has cleared the league's concussion protocol and is a full-go for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14, according to Ben Baby of ESPN.
Higgins suffered a concussion late in the Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots and was forced to sit out of the Thanksgiving night win over the Baltimore Ravens last Thursday. The 26-year-old will return this weekend in a crucial game on the road in Buffalo and will have quarterback Joe Burrow throwing him passes for the first time since Week 2.
Ja'Marr Chase's presence and high target share are always worrisome for Higgins' fantasy managers, but Higgins still has a pretty high fantasy ceiling, especially now that Burrow is back running the offense. Even with Burrow out for most of the year, Higgins has been a top-30 fantasy wideout in half-PPR scoring.
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught three of his four targets for 26 yards in a 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13.
Jeudy had a chance for a bigger game as he got open behind the San Francisco defense in the first quarter, but was overthrown by Shedeur Sanders. The veteran wideout is turning in a disappointing season, catching just 35 passes for 421 yards and one touchdown across 12 games.
Hard to trust in fantasy leagues going forward, Jeudy will look to get on track in Week 14's home matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Those relying on Jeudy can take solace in Tennessee surrendering a top-10 fantasy point figure to opposing wideouts thus far.
Rashid Shaheed, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is not a recommended fantasy football option in Week 14 against the Atlanta Falcons. Shaheed's snap count percentage has capped out around 50% for this team. He is being used as more of a gadget player than a true WR2.
It is always difficult to integrate a new player at the trade deadline, but Shaheed is capable of much more in this offense. To make matters worse, Shaheed is not even being targeted down the field despite his limited usage. He does not possess the potential to hit on a big play unless he takes a punt return to the house.
At this point, Shaheed can be dropped from your team. Until the Seahawks demonstrate that he is going to be a fully integrated piece of their offense, he is not going to be worth rostering in fantasy.
Samaje Perine, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine missed two games due to an ankle injury, but he returned in the Thanksgiving night win over the Baltimore Ravens last Thursday and had one fewer carry than starter Chase Brown in the 32-14 victory.
Perine surprisingly had a season-high 14 rushing attempts in his return from injury, but he didn't do much with the additional opportunities, gaining just 39 yards on the ground (2.8 yards per carry) while also losing his second fumble of the year. The 30-year-old veteran added two receptions for 15 yards.
Now that he's back to full health, Perine should continue to work as Cincy's RB2 behind Brown, but fantasy managers can't bank on him seeing double-digit carries again as the Bengals head into a Week 14 date with the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. At best, Perine is a handcuff for Brown in deeper fantasy football leagues.
Jordan Addison, WR, Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings will take on the struggling defense of the Washington Commanders in Week 14, which brings both potential and risk for wide receiver Jordan Addison. Washington is allowing opposing offenses to score on nearly 49% of possessions, which is the worst mark in the league, but the Vikings have been the most hapless offense in the NFL over the past month.
Minnesota scored 42 points in its past four games, including the franchise's first shutout loss in 18 years last week at Seattle. Despite playing more than 90% of the team's offensive snaps in every one of those four games, Addison has just 10 total catches to show for it.
Addison is a talented receiver with a great matchup, but the Vikings have been so awful on offense recently that even their best players have disappointed in fantasy lineups. The setting is good enough this week to consider Addison for a flex spot, but he's a wild card due to Minnesota's volatility.
