High-Confidence Strikeout Picks
Trevor Rogers OVER 5.5 strikeouts (+105 Hard Rock)
I think we are getting pretty solid value on Trevor Rogers in this spot at plus money, given what we are seeing out of the Red Sox recently. Over the previous two weeks, the Red Sox have posted a 26.8% K rate against left-handed pitching, which ranks fourth-worst in baseball.
Boston is also posting an ugly 46 wRC+ against southpaws over this same span, which ranks dead last in baseball. Additionally, their walk rate of 7.7% is not all that scary for Rogers, either. This also covers 142 plate appearances, so we are not talking a small sample size.
These data points should help give Rogers some length. He has struck out six or more in two of his previous three starts. He has also posted a very solid 34.4% chase rate this season, which has him ranked in the 81st percentile. He also has 40 plate appearances against this Red Sox lineup and has posted nearly a 23% K rate against them.
MacKenzie Gore OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-139 DraftKings)
Left-handed pitchers are going to be a major theme of this article, and we are going to continue the trend with MacKenzie Gore, who will be going up against the Athletics at Globe Life Field today. Gore has looked solid to begin the season, striking out seven or more batters in three of his first five starts.
While he has only managed to mow down five batters in each of his previous two starts, he will be returning home today, where he has racked up 18 strikeouts across 11 innings pitched. Overall, he ranks in the 91st percentile in terms of K rate and has also posted a 28.4% whiff rate thus far in 2026.
The matchup against the Athletics is pretty solid as well. Over the previous two weeks, they have posted a K rate of 23.2% against left-handers, which ranks them in the bottom half of the league. Their wRC+ mark of 83 also has them ranked ninth-worst in the league.
This is a really good spot for Gore as long as he can keep the walks to a minimum, as the A's are still posting a walk rate north of 12%, which is my only concern here.
