Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13:
Jacoby Brissett, QB, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett continues to put up solid numbers on a weekly basis, and he can be a solid option in deep leagues or two-quarterback formats. The veteran has thrown for over 250 yards in each of his six starts, while totaling 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Last week, he threw for 317 yards and a touchdown in the team's loss to the Jaguars while adding 20 rushing yards.
He has been given a huge volume of pass attempts with a limited run game and a defense that typically leaves him playing from behind. He's put together impressive numbers, and he will get at least one more start this week against the Buccaneers before Kyler Murray (foot) is eligible to return from IR.
Given how productive he has been, the Cards may opt to stick with Brissett, depending on their direction for the future beyond this season. For fantasy purposes, Brissett can be a solid option this week against the Bucs, but a Week 14 matchup with the Rams would be tough even if he gets another start.
Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants
New York Giants interim head coach Mike Kafka said that rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart (concussion) will be a full participant in practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. It sounds as if both Dart and Jameis Winston will take first-team reps.
Raanan points out that Dart is still officially in the league's concussion protocol after missing the last two games. It's good news that the 22-year-old Ole Miss product is practicing in full, but he still needs final clearance from the concussion protocol in order to be cleared to play on Monday night against the New England Patriots.
Winston nearly led the G-Men to an upset of the Detroit Lions in Week 12, but if cleared, New York is fully expected to go back to Dart to close out the season after they traded into the first round of the 2025 draft to select him. If Dart is cleared to play on Monday, he'll immediately be in play as a QB1 again in fantasy due to his dual-threat abilities under center.
Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford continued to fortify his MVP case with a masterful performance in a 34-7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football. Stafford completed 25 of 35 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns, all of which came in the first half as the Rams jumped out to a 31-7 lead and coasted the rest of the game.
The 37-year-old Stafford has built a solid lead as the favorite for the MVP award with a stellar season, accumulating 2,557 yards and 27 touchdowns to just two interceptions in 11 games.
Stafford will continue to rank as one of the best QB options in fantasy, leading an elite Rams offense that also features one of the top wide receiver duos in football in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) went 23-for-32 for 193 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions in Monday's 20-9 win over the Carolina Panthers. He also had 16 rushing yards on six carries. Purdy struggled to connect with his receivers on intermediate and deep routes, completing just one of his eight attempts of 10 yards or more.
All three of his interceptions came on shots 20 yards downfield or longer. In postgame comments, Purdy insisted his picks had nothing to do with the turf toe injury that has cost him eight games this season.
The 49ers will travel to Cleveland in Week 13 to face the Browns, whose defense has allowed the third-fewest passing yards and owns the highest sack rate in the league. Purdy projects as a QB2 against that stout defense in what will be a cold-weather game.
Daniel Jones, QB, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that quarterback Daniel Jones (leg) will be listed as limited for Wednesday's walkthrough practice, but he will be good to go for Sunday's divisional game against the Houston Texans, according to Mike Chappell of FOX 59.
Jones was also on last week's injury report with a fibula injury, but he eventually returned to a full practice and played in Sunday's overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, going 19-for-31 passing for 181 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.
The 28-year-old has been a front-runner for Comeback Player of the Year in 2025 in his first year in Indy, having thrown for 2,840 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 11 games. Jones will be more of a low-end QB2 option in fantasy football this weekend, though, against the No. 1 defense in the NFL.
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was a bit chaotic in their Week 12 overtime win over the Arizona Cardinals, completing 18 of 30 passes for 256 yards, three touchdowns, three interceptions, and taking three sacks while also losing a fumble. He added five carries for 29 yards on the ground.
The 26-year-old continues to be one of the most turnover-prone quarterbacks in the league, but he matched a season high with three passing touchdowns and continues to be active as a runner. He's had at least five carries in four straight games, totaling 24 rush attempts for 97 yards and three touchdowns.
Over that span, his 24 carries are tied for the second most among quarterbacks, his 97 yards are tied for fourth, and his three rushing touchdowns are tied for the second-most. Lawrence is the QB6 in fantasy points in the last four games, and is on the map as a potential streamer for Week 13 at the Tennessee Titans.
