Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 10:
Davis Mills, QB, Houston Texans
Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills will start in Week 10 against the Jaguars in place of C.J. Stroud (concussion). The veteran backup has been with the Texans since 2021, but this will be his first start since 2022. He completed 17 of 30 pass attempts for 137 passing yards last week against the Broncos, and he should have all his receivers available with Nico Collins, Christian Kirk, and Dalton Schultz all without injury designations coming into the weekend.
Mills will likely be asked to manage the game while the team relies on the strength of its defense to carry it against the Jags. Mills is the QB26 in RotoBaller's rankings for Week 10, though, so he's not a good fantasy option in his spot start.
Baker Mayfield, QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was off to an excellent start to the season, but has been held in check lately. In Week 8, Mayfield completed 15-of-24 passing attempts for 152 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in the win over the New Orleans Saints. He has been banged up lately, but is hopefully close to 100 percent healthy after the bye last week.
The hope is that Mayfield will be able to get back to his QB1 ways against the New England Patriots in Week 10. The Bucs are limited with offensive weapons, but that hasn't stopped Mayfield before. Fantasy managers should plug in Mayfield as a QB1 for this weekend.
Jacoby Brissett, QB, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett is in line to make his fourth start of the season, with Kyler Murray (foot) placed on Injured Reserve and his future with the team being in question. Brissett has provided a jolt for the Cardinals' offense since becoming the starter in Week 6, completing 65.8% of his passes for 860 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception while adding 14 carries for 49 yards and another score on the ground.
The 32-year-old has averaged 22.8 fantasy points and ranks as QB10 during that span. Brissett has elevated the offense with his ability to work on time and in structure, with Marvin Harrison Jr. recording a career high seven catches in their Week 9 win at the Dallas Cowboys and feeding star tight end Trey McBride targets in the red zone, with him scoring four touchdowns in Brissett's three starts.
Brissett faces a tough matchup in Week 10, as they face the division-leading Seattle Seahawks, who allow just a 5.4 net yards per pass attempt this season, the seventh-best mark in the league.
Mac Jones, QB, San Francisco 49ers
xSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones (knee) is expected to draw his eighth start of the season in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Rams. Brock Purdy (toe) is listed as questionable after a week of limited practices, and would serve as Jones' backup if active. The last time Jones faced the Rams, he enjoyed his best game of the season, passing for 342 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers, and did so with Ricky Pearsall (knee), Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder), and George Kittle out due to injury.
It was an exceptional lapse for the Rams' defense, which has given up just nine passing touchdowns and has allowed only one other top-12 finish to an opposing quarterback this season. This time around, Jones will still be missing Pearsall but has Jennings and Kittle back in his arsenal. Jones projects as a mid-range QB2, making him viable in two-QB formats.
