Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football waiver wire outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider adding off waivers in Week 6:

Tyquan Thornton, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton caught three of five targets for 90 yards in Monday night's 31-28 loss at Jacksonville. Thornton has continued to carve out a role for the Chiefs as a big playmaker and led the team in receiving yards for the second game this season.

The explosive plays have been lacking in Kansas City's offense over the past few seasons, but Thornton has provided at least one in almost every game so far.

For the season, he's caught 13 of 25 targets for 272 yards and three touchdowns. His three touchdowns are the most of any player on the team. Thornton should continue to play a regular role until Rashee Rice returns from his suspension in Week 7.

Dillon Gabriel, QB, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel finished his first NFL start with solid if unremarkable numbers, completing 19 of 33 passes for 190 yards, two touchdowns, and no turnovers in a 21-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The rookie from Oregon had some encouraging moments, including a rocket second-half touchdown pass to tight end David Njoku, but the Browns coughed up the lead in the final 30 seconds and were not able to recover. Cleveland's offense ran more running plays until the final drive, rushing for 140 yards on 32 yards, but Gabriel crucially stayed away from any catastrophic mistakes against a Vikings defense that often frazzles young quarterbacks.

As long as he's the starter, Dillon Gabriel should carry some Superflex appeal based on weekly matchups.

Ryan Flournoy, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy had the best game of his career on Sunday against New York, and he could stay involved in his team's high-volume passing attack in the coming weeks.

CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and KaVontae Turpin (ankle) were out in Week 5, and if they miss week as well, Flournoy could be busy once again as the Cowboys visit the Panthers in Week 6. In his career day against the Jets, the 25-year-old caught six of his nine targets for 114 yards and took two carries for 10 yards. He tied for the team lead in targets with Jake Ferguson and posted more receiving yards than any other player on the roster.

Flournoy had just four catches this season prior to Sunday and only 10 catches for all of last year. The second-year receiver from Southeast Missouri State will be a deep-league option to keep an eye on, though, since the Cowboys have been throwing the ball so often this season.

Jalen Coker, WR, Carolina Panthers

According to Joe Person of The Athletic, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker (quadriceps) is slated to have his practice window opened prior to Wednesday's practice. This is an excellent sign for the second-year wideout, as he has been on the injured reserve since the beginning of the season.

While he was unable to return in Week 5, it appears Coker will be in the mix to make his season debut this weekend when the Panthers face the Dallas Cowboys. As a rookie, Coker showed flashes of potential at times, catching 32 passes for 478 yards and two touchdowns.

This season, the Panthers have not had a reliable No. 2 option, opposite of star rookie Tetairoa McMillan, which could open up a large target share for Coker. When healthy, managers should expect Coker to be the primary slot option and carry FLEX value in PPR formats.

Isaiah Davis, RB, New York Jets

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis had a quiet game in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, recording just one carry for five yards and three catches for 28 yards on four targets.

It was New York's first game this season without running back Braelon Allen (knee), which bumped Davis up to the team's RB2 role. However, lead Jets' back Breece Hall dominated the backfield work, recording 155 yards from scrimmage on 18 total touches.

Davis is worth rostering in deeper fantasy leagues as a handcuff to Hall, but for now, he does not appear to carry standalone value for fantasy managers.
