Ty Chandler is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Minnesota Vikings running back Ty Chandler has failed to live up to the preseason hype. Aaron Jones has been the team’s featured running back, leaving limited work for Chandler. The third-year pro is the RB57 this season, averaging 4.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Unfortunately, Jones suffered a hip injury in the Week 5 win over the New York Jets. Chandler struggled after Jones left the game, ending the contest with only 4.9 fantasy points. More importantly, the veteran running back was at practice today following the Vikings’ Week 6 bye. While he is far from a lock to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions, Jones might not miss any time with the injury.
Aaron Jones (hip) was on the practice field today. A light bonus session coming out of the bye. I still wouldn’t say it’s a lock that he’ll play Sunday. pic.twitter.com/5M9bawuWTE

Fantasy players in deeper leagues should add Chandler off the waiver wire as a stash option. However, he isn’t an appealing option in Week 7, even if Jones can’t play. Minnesota faces an elite Detroit run defense this week, limiting any running back’s fantasy upside.
