NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/13/22

With only a little over a week left until the trade deadline, things are starting to heat up and we will finish the weekend off with an unusual eight-game slate tonight starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

There are multiple teams playing on the second-half of a back-to-back: Montreal, Philadelphia, St Louis, Nashville, Anaheim, Calgary, and Los Angeles. The Canadiens and their league-worst 3.76 GA will travel to Philadelphia, while the Panthers and their league-best 4.11 GF will look to strike down the Kings.

DISCLOSURE: Things may not be the same at puck drop due to COVID-19 and injuries. Make sure to monitor the news feed and play at your own risk.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Ilya Sorokin- DK $8K || FD $7.4K

Opponent - Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks are struggling and the whole league is noticing. They are also down their top-line center Ryan Getzlaf. To top it off, they will be playing on a back-to-back after losing last night to the Devils in a 2-1 shootout. All of these checkmarks point us right towards Sorokin. There are not many standout options on the slate, however, Sorokin is by far one of the most consistent goalies and his team is seeing an uptick in form. This is a perfect opportunity to extend his excellent play as of late.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Bobrovsky(DK $8.4K || FD $8.4K), Vasilevskiy(DK $8.5K || FD $7.2K), Hart(DK $7.9K || FD $7.3K), Talbot(DK $7.8K || FD $7.8K)

NHL DFS Centers

Brock Nelson-DK $5.5K || FD $6.5K

Opponent - Anaheim Ducks

Nelson’s career has officially received a heartbeat. The once second-line pivot now first-line is thriving with his new role and linemates. In his last five matches, he has a 4-2-6 line with 17.0 shots and 5.0 blocked shots. The Ducks are playing extremely inconsistent and they will be coming off a 2-1 shootout loss to the Devils. This is a perfect opportunity to keep the streak rolling.

Jack Eichel- DK $6.8K || FD $6.8K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Eichel remains the sole cog in the old rusty offense for the Golden Knights. The center is sporting a 2-1-3 line and 21.0 shots in his last five games. The Jackets have poor defense and their goaltending has not been helping outside of J-F Berube. If Vegas wants to win this game, Eichel will be carrying them on his back.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Barkov(DK $8.8K || FD $9.4K), Point(DK $6.6K || FD $8K), Hartman(DK $6K || FD $5.7K), Henrique(DK $4.6K || FD $5.8K), Roslovic(DK $3.2K || FD $4.1K), Brassard(DK $2.6K || FD $3.6K)

NHL DFS Wings

Cam Atkinson- DK $5.9K || FD $5.9K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

I have mentioned it before and will mention it again. Atkinson is finally reunited with Derick Brassard since the pivot came back from injury. Prior they were on fire and they carried the bulk of the offense for the Flyers. Now Atkinson gets another pass-first linemate in Giroux. Canadiens are playing on a back-to-back after losing at home to Seattle and this will provide a prime matchup for shoot-happy Atkinson.

Valerei Nichushkin- DK $3.8K || FD $5.8K

Opponent - Calgary Flames

The Avalanche are getting hit by the injury bug at the worst possible time, but it does grant other players the chance to try and kickstart their career. Nichushkin has been a disappointment everywhere he has played and this is yet another chance to prove he still has what it takes to be successful in the NHL. The Flames will not be a walk in the park either, but they do have a few weaknesses and if Daniel Vladar starts for them, it only increases the chances of Nichushkin getting a point.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Connor(DK $7.2K || FD $9.6K), Rantanen(DK $7K || FD $8.4K), Forsberg(DK $6.6K || FD $8K), ZuccarelloDK $6.1K || FD $7.4K), Marchessault(DK $5.5K || FD $6.8K), Lee(DK $3.5K || FD $5.1K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Noah Dobson- DK $6.4K || FD $6.4K

Opponent - Los Angeles Kings

Dobson will continue to be highlighted until he is too expensive or he stops producing entirely. The defenseman has taken leaps and bounds this season in his overall game and it is showing as he is one of the offensive leaders for the Islanders. In his last five games, he has a 1-5-6 line with 16.0 shots and 11.0 blocked shots. There are a few other defensemen on the slate that can put up similar numbers, but they all have a higher salary.

Rasmus Ristolainen- DK $3.2K || FD $4.2K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

Depending on your build for the slate, you may need a salary saver and Ristolainen is the perfect candidate. Not only does he continue to produce solid outings, but he is also coming off signing a fresh five-year extension and he won’t want to disappoint. Throughout his last five appearances, he has a 0-2-2 line with 6.0 shots and 17.0 blocked shots.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Makar(DK $7.2K || FD $7.2K), Pietrangelo(DK $6.2K || FD $6.3K), Spurgeon(DK $5.3K || FD $4.9K), Hanifin(DK $3.5K || FD $4.8K)
