BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 49% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Denver Broncos didn't envision this type of season when they traded the house for Russell Wilson last March. With just one more game on the schedule, Wilson ranks as the QB17 even though he's played at least one more game than Tua Tagovailoa and Lamar Jackson, both of them ahead of him in the leaderboard.
Wilson has had two similar halves to his first season with the Broncos. He averaged 15 FPPG in his first eight games before the W9 Bye, and he's averaged 14.8 FPPG in the next eight he's played (he missed W15). That said, Wilson has scored more than 18 FP just three times this season and two of those QB1-level performances have come in two of his last three games played.
The oddity about those two great outings, though, is that both happened against the Kansas City Chiefs in W14 and W17.
Wilson hurt KC in their first meeting of the season reaching 26.6 FP mostly on passing plays (23 completions, 247 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT) while he did it on the ground last Sunday finishing with 222 yards on 26 completions (1 TD, 1 INT) but adding 27 rushing yards and 2 TDs carrying the rock on top of everything for a 24.6-FP score. No matter those two great performances, though, Denver lost the two games.
Russ has been quite up-and-down this year with more downs than ups, though. He started the year with two QB2-level games, went from QB3 to QB1 to QB3 in the next three, then strung four consecutive QB2 games, and in his last five games he's had two QB1-type games to go with two QB3-level outings and one QB2. Yes, it's been a mess.
Wilson should still finish the season reasonably strong next weekend as Denver is a measly 4-12 but they are not in possession of their own pick after handing it to Seattle in the Wilson trade.
