Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Matthew Golden, WR, Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden looks to continue his forward momentum in terms of utilization when the Packers head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 4. Golden's first three games in the NFL have drawn mixed reviews from fantasy managers who drafted him in the middle rounds.
Through three games, Golden has a combined eight targets, six receptions, and 68 receiving yards, with most of that coming in his best game to date in Week 3, where he caught four balls for 52 yards. He ran routes on 84 percent of quarterback Jordan Love's dropbacks and earned 22 percent of the first-read targets as well.
To say Golden has been a disappointment is fair, but his role is growing. Golden could keep his ramp-up going in a great matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, but we need to remember that Golden has a shockingly low fantasy floor. That said, Golden is an upside flex play for fantasy managers in Week 4.
DK Metcalf, WR, Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf (rest) did not practice on Thursday but carries no injury designation and will suit up in Week 4. He is staring down a challenge against the Minnesota Vikings after posting modest numbers through his first three games with the Steelers.
The Vikings have given up the fewest fantasy points to opposing wideouts this season, holding stars like Ja'Marr Chase and Drake London to 50 yards or fewer. While Metcalf and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have shown chemistry in the red zone, Minnesota has allowed just one touchdown to a receiver, and none since Week 1.
The seventh-year pro remains the clear top target in Pittsburgh and has the explosiveness to break open for a big play, but expectations should be tempered. Metcalf profiles as a low-end WR2 or flex option for this international showdown in Dublin, Ireland.
George Pickens, WR, Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens is making a strong case to be Dallas's temporary No. 1 receiver with CeeDee Lamb (ankle) likely sidelined for weeks. He will continue his solid production against a tough Packers defense in Week 4. Over the past two games, he's delivered identical stat lines--five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown each week--showing steady chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott.
According to the Cowboys' official site, both quarterback and receiver believe that connection can carry Pickens into a featured role, and his nine targets in Week 3 point to a workload ready to expand. Fantasy managers should note that his air yards and red-zone looks are trending upward, giving him both a safe floor and real scoring upside. With defenses now forced to respect Jake Ferguson underneath, Pickens could benefit from single coverage on deeper routes.
While tougher matchups may bring added attention his way, the opportunity is undeniable. Despite the tough matchup against Green Bay, he profiles as a strong WR2 (RotoBaller WR20) in Week 4, especially in PPR leagues where volume is king.
Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen once again proved to be quarterback Justin Herbert's most trusted option in the team's 23-20 win over the Denver Broncos, catching seven of 11 targets for 65 yards and a touchdown.
The veteran commands a stellar 26.2% target share and a 40% red-zone target share over three games, making him a consistent scoring threat. Facing the 0-3 New York Giants' vulnerable secondary, Allen could be set up for an active day.
Though the potential for the Chargers to lean on the run game if the score gets out of hand could slightly cap his volume. RotoBaller raises Allen to WR25 this week. He is a borderline WR2 and a strong start in all formats, especially PPR.
Jakobi Meyers, WR, Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has been a steady force in the passing attack, leading the team with 26 targets through three weeks. He added another efficient outing in Week 3, posting three catches for 63 yards against Washington, bringing his season totals to 17 receptions for 228 yards.
With the Raiders ranking seventh in passing yards per game and Geno Smith finding his rhythm, Meyers has established himself as a trusted option in the offense. Now facing a vulnerable Chicago Bears secondary, he should be confidently started as a WR2 across all fantasy formats in what projects to be a high-scoring matchup.
