Projecting Rest of Season Top 10 Outfielders in 2024 Fantasy Baseball (Week 16)

Jarren Duran - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects News

Thunder Dan Palyo projects which ten outfielders will finish the season in the top 10 for the 2024 fantasy baseball season.

When it comes to the player ratings for hitters this season, it's been the infielders who reign supreme, claiming seven of the top ten spots.

Two of the top ten outfielders are from the same team, and it shouldn't take you more than one guess to figure out who that duo is!

It's time to resume our series at RotoBaller where we speculate as to how the fantasy baseball season finishes! As we head into the All-Star break, let's see who is in the current top ten and which players we should expect to move in or out of the top ten by September.

Current Top 10 Outfielders for Fantasy Baseball

Here are the top 10 most valuable outfielders in 5x5 roto leagues right now according to Yahoo's player rankings.

Hitter R HR RBI SB AVG
Aaron Judge 71 33 84 5 0.306
Juan Soto 73 22 65 5 0.298
Marcell Ozuna 57 26 77 0 0.301
Yordan Alvarez 56 19 52 5 0.3
Jurickson Profar 52 14 59 5 0.307
Jarren Duran 61 10 41 22 0.275
Christian Yelich 43 11 41 21 0.327
Brenton Doyle 54 14 41 20 0.277
Brandon Nimmo 59 16 62 8 0.251
Kyle Schwarber 63 19 53 4 0.252

Judge continues his home run barrage and hit another one last night. He's staked his claim to the top spot and not even his own teammate, Soto, is likely to catch him this season.

I keep waiting for Ozuna to slow down, but he smacked two more solo shots last night. Perhaps that was foolish as Ozuna hits in a great park with warm weather in the Summer and has some solid lineup protection with Austin Riley and Matt Olson.

Alvarez just needs to stay in the lineup and he could finish as high as second by the season's end. He's notoriously always dinged up, so I won't count on it.

Christian Yelich is rising up the rankings quickly. He missed about a month earlier this season and therefore his total stats are a bit low, but on a per-game basis, he's killing it.

Brenton Doyle has been a major surprise this season and the lone bright spot for the Rockies offense. He has the benefit of hitting in Coors field half the time and is stealing enough bases where he could hang around in the top ten this year.

Brandon Nimmo is probably the hottest hitter in the National League and his last month of production has thrust him up into the mix, though I am not sure he can sustain it.

Projected Top 10 Outfielders for Fantasy Baseball

Taking into account the rest of the season projections from ATC and others (plus my own opinion), here's how I see the final top ten outfielder rankings shaking out by the end of this season.

  1. Aaron Judge
  2. Juan Soto
  3. Marcell Ozuna
  4. Yordan Alvarez
  5. Christian Yelich
  6. Jarren Duran
  7. Steven Kwan
  8. Kyle Schwarber
  9. Brenton Doyle
  10. Mookie Betts/Kyle Tucker

Betts and Tucker are the wild cards here as they are both top-3 type players if we had a full season of production. But both have been shelved for some time and will struggle to put up enough volume even if they return soon to overtake some of the others.

The top four is pretty locked in for me, barring injury, and then I have the next tier of high-average hitters who can also swipe bags in Duran, Yelich, and Kwan. Steven Kwan doesn't steal much, but like Yelich, he's hitting everything this year and has improved his power, too. He'd be in the top ten right now if he had not missed some time earlier in the year.

Some guys just outside the top ten are Profar (I think his average continues to fall), Teoscar Hernandez, Riley Greene, and Bryan Reynolds.
