Thunder Dan's MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Today: Best Pitcher K Props (5/15/2026)

Spencer Strider - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Today's best MLB strikeout prop bets and pitcher K props for Friday, May 15. Thunder Dan's expert MLB player prop picks, betting odds, and advanced stat analysis to help you win.

Friday night baseball is right up there for me with some Friday night NBA hoops or Sunday afternoon NFL football. We almost always get every MLB team in action and a new slate of weekend series kicking off. There are some really fun matchups this weekend, as the MLB schedule makers have given us intrastate matchups between teams in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, California, and Texas, while also scheduling the cross-town rivalries in New York, L.A., and Chicago. Literally every game is between teams from the same city or geographic region, which is absolutely pretty cool.

I'll offer up a few of my top picks here today, but you'll need to grab a premium pass to see all five of my favorite K prop wagers. Our top MLB writers are posting their favorite props on Discord daily, so gain additional access to those picks with a premium RotoBaller membership.

In this article, I'll provide my favorite prop bets for MLB games on Friday, May 15, 2026. Odds will change during the day, so lock in those bets as early as possible and always shop for the best number across multiple sportsbooks or prediction markets! High-Confidence Strikeout Picks

Spencer Strider OVER 6.5 strikeouts (+130 Novig)

Is Spencer Strider ready to return to his 2024 form? We certainly aren't there yet, but he's showing very good strikeout stuff thus far, with a 35% strikeout rate through his first two starts. The velocity on his four-seamer is creeping back up, and he still has one of the best sliders in the game.

It would be easier to dismiss his hot start if he didn't just dominate the Dodgers and one of the better lineups in all of MLB. He's at home tonight and facing a Boston team that is striking out 24% of the time vs. RHP over the last two weeks, which is good for 8th-worst in baseball right now.

Novig offers us the best odds, but if you don't get down with sports prediction markets (which you should!), then you can still find plus odds on other books, but probably not for long!

Jack Leiter OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-128 DraftKings)

So one important thing that you have to remember is that every team's lineup is changing throughout the season, and offenses, like individual hitters, tend to go on hot and cold streaks as well. So while we were avoiding Houston for strikeouts earlier this season, the recent trends (24.4% K% vs. RHP over the last 14 days) suggest that Houston is a prime team to target with some good strikeout pitchers.

Leiter has been very good against righties, too, with a 31% K% vs. RHH this season compared to just 21% against lefties. Houston's projected lineup has six righties in it, and youngsters Zach Cole, Cam Smith, and Brice Matthews are all striking out over 35% of the time against RHP.

This Houston lineup isn't the same tough lineup for pitchers that it was a month ago, and I'm all over Leiter today to go for six or more strikeouts for the third straight start.
