Top MLB DFS Pitcher for DraftKings, FanDuel
Max Fried, SP - NYY ($9.7K DK/$10.9K FD)
Max Fried is not someone I play in DFS often, but every time I do, he tends to go bonkers. Tonight is that night. Fried is my top option on the slate and one I will be heavily targeting. He will be facing the Texas Rangers on the road at Globe Life Field.
Fried this season has been underwhelming, posting a 3.93 xFIP, 20.5% K%, 9.9% SwStr%, 0.77 WHIP, and 0.22 HR/9. He has allowed a 37.8% FB% and a 30.4% Hard Hit%. If it weren't for the low swing and miss totals, he would be in elite territory. Here's the truth. Fried has a 25.7% xK% and a 32.4% xK% over his last two starts. There is some serious positive regression coming with his strikeouts when the right spot comes.
The Texas Rangers are that right spot. This season, they have a 30.2% K%, .591 OPS, and a 67 wRC+ against southpaws. Fried gets a ballpark upgrade, going from Yankee Stadium to Globe Life. My model projects him for 7.68 strikeouts and a 29.5% K%, and the Rangers have a 2.8 implied run total.
Fried is my SP1 in all formats tonight.
Top MLB DFS Stack for DraftKings, FanDuel
Los Angeles Dodgers (Model Projected IRT (Implied Run Total)- 5.4) vs. Chris Paddack
The Dodgers are my top stack tonight, and frankly, because of the weather and poor hitting conditions, they seem like the only option without risk. The Dodgers will host Chris Paddack tonight at Dodger Stadium on what looks to be a beautiful night for baseball.
Paddack this season has a 3.67 xFIP, 1.54 WHIP, 1.88 HR/9, 37.2% FB%, and a 35.4% Hard Hit%. He has a 41.9% FB% and Hard Hit% over the L14 days. The Dodgers' 5.4 implied run total is the second-highest in my model on tonight's slate.
The Dodgers continue to rake this season. They have an .828 OPS and a 129 wRC+ against RHP. Over the L14 days, they have a .770 OPS and a 114 wRC+. I love targeting the Dodgers at their home ballpark, especially on short slates with not a ton of options.
Favorite Targets: Max Muncy, Freddie Freeman, Dalton Rushing, Hyeseong Kim, Alex Freeland, Shohei Ohtani, Alex Freeland
Top MLB DFS Hitter for DraftKings, FanDuel
Max Muncy, 3B - LAD ($4.6K DK/$3.5K FD)
Max Muncy is my top play on tonight's slate. He is red hot with a 1.553 OPS over his last 23 PA against RHP and is slashing .208/.412/.612 with a 1.024 OPS this season against the split. Chris Paddack has allowed a .444 SLG and a 53.3% Hard Hit% to LHH this season.
