1 day agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper has been on a hot streak over his past two games, combining for 16 catches, 202 yards, and two touchdowns. He appears to have settled into the Cleveland offense nicely after a slow Week 1 and will continue to operate as the clear No. 1 receiver in town moving forward. In Week 4, he will head on the road to take on the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta has struggled to slow down receivers in fantasy through their first three games, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Cooper sets up as a solid WR2 in fantasy in Week 4.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

1 week agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught seven of his 11 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in a 29-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. Cooper scored Cleveland's first points of the game on an 11-yard reception from Jacoby Brissett in the first quarter. The veteran wide receiver has bounced back after a slow Week 1, having posted 16 catches for 202 yards and two scores over his past two games. Now firmly established as Brissett's favorite target in the passing game, Cooper can be treated as a solid WR2 in fantasy going forward. He will face the Atlanta Falcons on the road in Week 4.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

1 week agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper bounced back from a slow Week 1 to catch nine passes for 101 yards and a touchdown last week. The veteran wideout will look for more success in Week 3's Thursday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh has been a favorable matchup for wide receivers thus far, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to the position through two games. Fantasy gamers can trust Cooper as a high-end WR3 for Week 3.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

2 weeks agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught nine of his 10 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in a 31-30 loss to the New York Jets in Week 2. Cooper came on strong to lead the team in all receiving categories just a week after posting a three-catch, 17-yard dud in his Cleveland debut. His touchdown was a six-yard, sliding effort in the end zone in the first half. Cooper clearly operated as Cleveland's No. 1 target in Week 2, giving fantasy managers who drafted him some optimism heading forward. Cooper will be a low-end WR2 in Week 3's Thursday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 weeks agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper had a quiet debut with his new team, posting just three catches for 17 yards on six targets in Week 1. Cooper will look to bounce back at home against the New York Jets in Week 2. The Browns went run-heavy with Jacoby Brissett under center in Week 1 and it is apparent that is the way they want to operate the offense while waiting for Deshaun Watson to serve out his 11-game suspension. Cooper could continue to struggle as a result, leaving him as a low-end WR3/high-end WR4 in fantasy for Week 2.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
3 weeks agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught three of his six targets for 17 yards in a 26-24 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. It was a quiet afternoon for the high-profile offseason acquisition, who had just two catches for eight yards up until Cleveland's final drive of the game. Cooper will have bigger games moving forward, although it is apparent that the Browns are content to let their elite running game lead the way, which will limit the wideout's ceiling in fantasy. Treat Cooper as a WR3 heading into a Week 2 matchup against the New York Jets.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
3 weeks agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper will debut for his new team against the Carolina Panthers on the road in Week 1. Cooper was acquired by Cleveland in an offseason trade and immediately upgraded the receiving corps for the Browns. He should see a large target share against the Panthers in Week 1, although it's fair to wonder just how effective Cleveland's offense will be with Jacoby Brissett under center. Look for Cleveland to go run-heavy on Sunday, which could limit Cooper's upside. Carolina was tough on wide receivers in 2021, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Treat Cooper as a WR3 for Week 1.--Matt T - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
1 month agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper is the team's clear No. 1 pass-catcher by a wide margin. He has been quick and confident in training camp while the middle to bottom of an unproven receiver depth chart has been plagued by injuries and drops this summer. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett is a big downgrade from Deshaun Watson, but Brissett will target Cooper frequently at short and intermediate range. The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that the Browns will keep Cooper busy, so perhaps fantasy managers shouldn't be avoiding him altogether in drafts now that Watson is suspended for the first 11 games of the 2022 season. Cooper should be considered a WR3 with more value in PPR leagues heading into his first season with the Browns.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Zac Jackson

2 months agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (ankle) returned to training camp practice on Wednesday and is taking part in individual drills. Cooper didn't participate in practice on Tuesday after tweaking his ankle on Monday. It's good news that he's already back, as the Browns' thin receiving corps is already without rookie David Bell (foot) and Anthony Schwartz (knee) in camp. Cooper will be the team's unquestioned No. 1 receiver in his first year in Cleveland, but he won't have quarterback Deshaun Watson throwing him passes until Week 7, which will put a dent in his fantasy upside early on. Fantasy managers should consider drafting the 28-year-old as a low-end WR2 this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich
Share:
2 months agoCleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that wide receiver Amari Cooper (ankle) will not practice on Tuesday but he'll be back on the practice field soon at training camp. Cooper tweaked his ankle in practice on Monday. It doesn't sound like the 28-year-old's injury is very serious, so fantasy managers shouldn't have any concerns about drafting him. However, the Browns wideouts are extremely banged up in training camp, with David Bell (foot) and Anthony Schwartz (knee) also sidelined. Cooper will be the team's unquestioned No. 1 wideout in his first year in Cleveland, and although quarterback Deshaun Watson is suspended for the first six games of the season, Cooper will be a low-end WR2 in fantasy drafts this fall.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram - Scott Petrak
Share:
7 months agoThe Cleveland Browns restructured wide receiver Amari Cooper's contract, converting most of his $20 million base salary into a signing bonus, adding two void years and saving over $15 million on the 2022 salary cap. Cooper lost a lot of fantasy intrigue with the initial move from Dallas to Cleveland, but that has all changed now that the Browns have quarterback Deshaun Watson under center instead of Baker Mayfield. The 27-year-old pass-catcher is a four-time Pro Bowler and has posted 1,000-yard seasons in four of his seven NFL seasons. Cooper had 865 receiving yards and a career-high-tying eight touchdowns on 104 targets last year and will be a strong WR2 in his first year with the Browns.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
Share:
7 months agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper has been traded to the Cleveland Browns. In exchange, the Cowboys will receive a fifth round pick and the two teams will swap sixth round picks. The four-time Pro Bowl receiver could end up losing value with his new team. Quarterback Baker Mayfield struggled to have success with Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. The 27-year-old has five 1,000 receiving seasons under his belt already. The Browns will take on Cooper's $20 million cap hit for the 2022 season. The Cowboys will now turn their attention to bringing back Michael Gallup. This was a no-brainer move for the Browns, but Cooper's value could be headed downhill.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Adam Schefter
Share:
7 months agoAt least five NFL teams have discussed Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper's availability in a potential trade or release, according to a source. Teams that are in the receiver market leading up to free agency are at least checking on Cooper's value and contract situation. Cooper is set to count $22 million against Dallas' 2022 salary cap, which is a big reason why they are moving on. The 27-year-old had 68 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 regular season games in 2021, but he has made six Pro Bowls and has topped 1,000 receiving yards in five of his eight NFL seasons, so there's still plenty to like for receiver-needy teams with plenty of cap space. Cooper could bounce back with another 1,000-yard showing in 2022, but his fantasy value will depend on where he lands.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

7 months agoThe New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins are reportedly interested in signing wide receiver Amari Cooper if he's released by the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas reportedly is trying to deal Cooper, but there hasn't been any interest due to his high salary -- he's setread more...
Share:
7 months agoNFL teams know that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper is available in a trade, but there hasn't been any interest in his salary point. With plenty of quality receiving options available in free agency and through the draft, the Cowboys may not get many hits on the trade market for the 27-year-old. If Dallas doesn't trade him, they are expected to release him to avoid paying Cooper $20 million in 2022. The Cowboys plan to use the savings on Cooper to re-sign both Michael Gallup and Cedrick Wilson, who took a big step last season. Cooper, a four-time Pro Bowler with 1,000-yard seasons in five of his seven seasons, had 68 receptions (104 targets) for 865 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 regular season games in 2021. His 2022 fantasy value will depend entirely on where he winds up.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Yahoo Sports - Charles Robinson
