Zach Wilson Medically Cleared, Will Start In Week 4
2 years agoNew York Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced on Wednesday that quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) has been medically cleared and will start in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, barring any setbacks. Wilson will be making his season debut, while veteran Joe Flacco will head back to the bench. The 23-year-old second-year signal-caller suffered a meniscus injury and a bone bruise in his knee in the preseason, causing him to miss the first three games. Wilson had a rough rookie season and isn't guaranteed a second-year leap, although he does have plenty of weapons in the backfield and at wide receiver. Until we see more from him, Wilson will be a low-end QB2 play in superflex leagues, at best.
