Zach Ertz Expected To Report To Training Camp
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz, who had trade speculation surrounding him for months, is expected to report to training camp with the team next week, according to an Eagles sideline reporter. The previous belief was that Ertz would sit out of training camp while the team tried to trade him. And if they couldn't trade him, the belief was that they'd cut the 30-year-old three-time Pro Bowler to get rid of his $8.5 million salary in 2021. Ertz skipped minicamp earlier this summer, but he has been at the team facility working out and is over his contract issues with the team. With Ertz likely no longer seeking an extension with Philly, there's a good chance he begins the season with the team, which would be bad news for fellow tight end Dallas Goedert, who is being taken, on average, as the No. 7 fantasy tight end right now. Ertz's current ADP has him as the 19th TE off the board after his down 2020 season. Ertz missed a handful of games due to injury and finished with 36 catches for 355 yards and only one touchdown in the worst statistical season of his career.
