Zach Davies Lowers ERA Thursday
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Zach Davies threw five shutout innings on Thursday, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out two against the Dodgers. The Dodgers offense has been very hot to start the season, so the shutout innings are impressive, but the two strikeouts and only lasting five innings is not. So far, Davies has only reached six innings once this season and though his ERA sits at 1.19, he doesn't offer much upside. That being said, if he can keep his ERA low while playing for such a good offense, he may be in line for a decent amount of wins, but the ERA seems unsustainable and the strikeouts are too low to give him a lot of value.
