Zac Gallen Set To Face Giants Again Friday
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zac Gallen is scheduled to face the first-place San Francisco Giants for the second time this year on Friday. Gallen's first start against San Fran didn't go so well on June 17 in his first start back from the injured list. The right-hander allowed four earned runs on four hits while striking out three and walking one for his second loss of the season in just 2 2/3 innings. Gallen lost his next outing against Milwaukee, but he was much better, striking out eight and allowing just one earned run in five frames. The 25-year-old then took a no-decision against the San Diego Padres his last time out when he gave up two earned runs while walking three and striking out three in 4 2/3 innings. Gallen has a nice 3.69 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 10.6 K/9 in eight starts this year, and while the matchup against the Gigantes is tough, he'll be less risky than he was in his first start of the year against them.
