1 year agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Yohander Mendez has been optioned to Triple-A for violating team rules. Mendez is not the only player being disciplined but he is the only player being removed from the roster. Mendez had a terrible outing in his first career major league start, giving up six earned runs in three innings against the Colorado Rockies. Mendez had been earmarked as a future regular rotation piece for the Rangers, but there is no indication how long he will remain at Triple-A. For now, Mendez should be dropped in all leagues, as even when he is on the roster he has a lack of real upside.--Ben Rolfe - RotoBaller
