Earlier on Wednesday, we told you that New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes may not need to play in any rehab games as he continues to work his way back from a hip injury. Now we’ve learned that Cespedes ran the bases and did sprints in the outfield on Wednesday afternoon, lending a bit more credence to that thought. After reporting no issues here and after taking live at-bats on Tuesday, it would seem that Yo is indeed nearing a return. It sounds like he may be back for the weekend series against the New York Yankees, but if not, next week sounds like a near certainty. Get ready to put him back into your lineups.--John Smith
