Yoenis Cespedes Officially Placed On Disabled List

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (feet) has officially been placed on the 10-day disabled list. The team has also officially recalled infielder Jeff McNeil. Cespedes is dealing with an injury to both of his heels that will require major surgery. While not official yet, it's likely that Cespedes undergoes that surgery and is on the shelf for 8-10 months. Best case scenario would have him back in March of next year. Cespedes has been a disappointment in 2018, appearing in just 38 games. His season is likely over as New York hopes they'll have their slugger back fully healthy at some point in 2019.
