8 months agoThe Chicago White Sox placed third baseman Yoan Moncada (groin) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a left-groin strain, but he's expected to miss three to six months. Outfielder Oscar Colas was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Moncada could end up missing the rest of the season after getting hurt while running to first base in the second inning on Tuesday. It's a huge disappointment for Moncada and the White Sox, especially with outfielders Eloy Jimenez (groin) and Luis Robert Jr. (hip) also on the IL. Moncada had gone 11-for-39 (.282) with three doubles and four runs scored in 11 games this year. Both Lenyn Sosa and Braden Shewmake could see more playing time on the infield with the 28-year-old out for the foreseeable future.
