2 years agoChicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada (back) isn't expected to return to the lineup on Friday now after missing the series against the Minnesota Twins this week, and he could land on the injured list this weekend. The 27-year-old's back injury didn't appear to be too serious earlier in the week, but apparently the oft-injured third baseman hasn't made much progress. It's a shame, too, as he had gone 12-for-39 (.308) with four doubles, two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored in his first nine games of 2023. Hopefully it's a short IL stay if Moncada goes on the shelf. In his absence, the White Sox have been using both Hanser Alberto and Jake Burger at the hot corner.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
