Yasmani Grandal Dealing With Knee Soreness
1 year agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) was scratched from Wednesday night's lineup against the Texas Rangers due to right-knee soreness. He is considered day-to-day. Seby Zavala drew the start behind the dish and was in the nine-hole against Rangers left-hander Martin Perez. The White Sox have a day off on Thursday, so hopefully Grandal will be available to return to the lineup on Friday in the series opener against the Boston Red Sox. The 34-year-old Cuban veteran switch-hitter is hitting a serviceable .262 (53-for-202) on the year with five long balls, 11 doubles, 18 RBI and 15 runs scored in 60 games this year. Grandal has hit .250 (12-for-48) with a homer, two doubles and three RBI in 14 games in June.
