Yankees Sign Michael Hermosillo To Minor-League Deal
2 years agoThe New York Yankees signed outfielder Michael Hermosillo and right-hander Demarcus Evans to minor-league deals. Hermosillo, 27, played in just 47 games for the Chicago Cubs over the last two seasons, hitting .144/.246/.278 with three home runs, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored and one stolen base in 111 plate appearances. In five major-league seasons, he's slashing .167/.268/.283 with four home runs and 17 RBI in 103 games played. Hermosillo will merely serve as outfield depth for the Yankees. Evans did not pitch at all in the big leagues in 2022. In two seasons with the Texas Rangers, he has a 4.75 ERA (4.66 FIP), a 1.42 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 30 1/3 relief innings.
